L - In a lovely gite for week, in grounds of gentleman farmer's domain/manor house. Evenings spent on enclosed terrace with plate glass windows looking out onto pastures with charollais cattle meandering around. Not a sound can be heard at night and it's pitch black when you switch off the lights.
Spent Saturday evening unexpectedly dancing! The owners were having a "soiree dansante" with 50 of their friends and we were invited. Shame we could not jive but we did our bit! Rolled in gone midnight and then sat and watched the stars. Superb!
Have bought a few bottles of premier cru burgundy ( some from the owner's younger brother and the rest from someone at the party). Mike suspects it may be one of the best reds he has ever had. We will be looking for friends to share it with when we get back. No queuing down the road please!
We helped get the pool ready and have then tried to use it every day. I think you could call it refreshing! It's hovering around 18 degrees so warmer than the Channel or North Sea.
Also visited Puilly Fuisse and Montagny for some white wine. I think they're lovely.
